what is the difference between Lacrimal Punctum and Lacrimal Caruncle?
------------------------------------------------------------------------- The caruncul is the small, pink, globe-like nodule at the inner corner (the medial angle) of the eye. It is made of skin covering sebaceous (oil) and sudoriferous (sweat) glands.
The punctum seen on the margins of the lids at the lateral extremity of the lacus lacrimalis. There are two lacrimal puncta in the medial (inside) portion of each eye (upper and lower). In another meaning the punctum is the beginning of the lacrimal lacuna which collects the tear from the eye and drain it to the nasolacrimal duct to the nose
